Test Plan Preparation

Test plan prepared before testing begins. Every outlet identified and numbered. Test parameters confirmed for the cabling standard being tested. Equipment calibration verified and recorded.

Copper Link Testing

Every copper link tested with the Fluke DSX analyser. Both ends of each link tested. Results reviewed immediately. Any failures investigated and the cause identified before moving to the next link.

Fibre Link Testing

Every fibre link tested with the OTDR from both ends. Splice losses, connector losses, and total link loss measured and compared against the design budget. Any failures investigated and resolved.

Fault Investigation and Remediation

Any failed links investigated using the test equipment to locate the fault. Faults remediated by re-terminating, re-splicing, or replacing the affected cable section. Links re-tested after remediation.

Full certification reports produced covering every link. Reports include all test results, equipment details, and tester identification. Reports reviewed for completeness before being provided to the customer.

Warranty Registration

New Installation Certification

A Glasgow law firm had a new Cat6A structured cabling installation completed by a local contractor. They needed independent certification to support the manufacturer warranty claim and satisfy their IT auditors.
