How We Work

A six-stage process built around zero surprises.

01

Exchange Environment Assessment

We audit your on-premise Exchange environment: server version, mailbox count and sizes, public folders, shared mailboxes, connectors, certificates, and any third-party integrations that send or receive email via Exchange.

02

Migration Path Design

Migration path designed based on your Exchange version and business requirements. Cutover, staged, or hybrid approach selected. Timeline agreed. Rollback procedures documented before any work begins.

03

Azure AD Connect and Tenant Preparation

Azure AD Connect deployed to synchronise your on-premise Active Directory with Microsoft 365. Licences assigned, accepted domains verified, security baseline applied, and Defender for Office 365 enabled.

04

Hybrid Configuration (if required)

Hybrid Exchange Wizard run to establish coexistence between on-premise Exchange and Exchange Online. Free/busy sharing, unified GAL, and mail routing configured. Hybrid tested before any mailboxes move.

05

Mailbox Migration and Cutover

Mailboxes migrated in batches or via cutover depending on the agreed approach. MX records updated. Outlook reconfigured via Autodiscover. Users supported through the transition. Mail flow confirmed.

06

Server Decommission and Validation

Exchange server decommissioned once all mailboxes are confirmed in Exchange Online. DNS records cleaned up. Certificates removed. Server removed from Active Directory. Final validation report produced.

Real Results

Exchange migrations delivered across the UK.

Exchange 2013 End-of-Support Migration

A Blackburn manufacturer was running Exchange 2013 on ageing hardware. The server was approaching end of support and the business had no budget for new on-premise infrastructure.

Hybrid Exchange configuration deployed. Mailboxes migrated to Exchange Online in batches over three weeks. On-premise server decommissioned on schedule. Annual infrastructure saving of over 8,000 pounds.

Exchange 2010 Emergency Migration

A Sheffield solicitors practice was still running Exchange 2010 when the server hardware failed. They needed an urgent migration to Exchange Online to restore email services.

Emergency migration to Exchange Online completed within 24 hours using PST export and import. All emails recovered. MX records updated. Firm back to full email operation the following morning.

Multi-Site Exchange Consolidation

A Lancashire housing association had Exchange servers at three separate sites, each running different versions. IT overhead was significant and the organisation wanted to consolidate onto a single cloud platform.

All three Exchange environments migrated to a single Microsoft 365 tenant over eight weeks. Public folders converted to SharePoint. Shared mailboxes recreated. All three on-premise servers decommissioned. IT overhead reduced significantly.
